Going on a short weekend trip?? Packing for an exciting, yet quick trip can be a bit challenging because you want to take so many outfits but know you’ll only wear a few. Planning for these types of getaways is very pertinent when trying not to over-pack.
I’m currently getting ready for a trip to the DMV to visit one of my best friends. Although I’m driving down there instead of flying, I still don’t want to pack way too many clothes. I start to plan out my outfits by first figuring out an idea of what I will be doing while on my trip and also checking the weather forecast.
From there I’ll pack about two outfits for each do so that I have options and just in case the weather is different from the forecast. For this trip, I know I’ll be doing a lot of walking around and it will be hot so comfortable sandals, and cool clothing was necessary. I love love loveeee jumpsuits because they are such a quick and easy outfit. I have a few that are lightweight, breatheable fabrics that are perfect for hot weather. Of course I packed a couple of those, along with shorts and loose-fitted tanks tops.
Having a nice sized crossbody bag is always my go-to for trips. Something small but still large enough to fit my wallet, phone, lipgloss, and a few emergency items just in case. I always go towards neutral tones first because they’ll look great with everything, but I love to throw in some color here and there to incorporate the perfect hues for the season.
Short weekend getaways can be really fun, but don’t let packing for the trip get you stressed. Remember to plan effectively so you’re not overpacking and you can just focus on getting to the fun!
