Not sure what your fashion style is? Want to change or amp up your look but need help narrowing down the style you want to go for? Keep reading for descriptions of a few top fashion styles. Of course no one has to solely go by one defined style type, people mix types often and dress based on how they feel. Anyway, some main types are Classic, Chic, Casual, and Bohemian.

Classic style includes very well-tailored garments with clean lines. “Simple elegance” is the perfect description for this style type. Think Audrey Hepburn or even Gabrielle Union’s and Katie Holmes’ modern take on the classics. They consistently, yet effortlessly, fuse classic silhouettes with more contemporary updates. Gabby often adds a bit of edge to her looks while Katie will keep her looks more on the traditional side with subtle modern accents like the leather top pictured. Classic style is also known as sophisticated because of their well-polished looks and manner.
The Chic style (that’s me!) is basically being stylish without necessarily wearing the “trendy” fashions. It doesn’t mean we don’t pay attention or even sometimes follow fashion trends; we just are very selective with what we choose to wear. We know what works best on us. Chic fashion gals have a very timeless sense of style while shaking it up with hints of current trends. It is a style that relates to being causal in a not so casual way.
Comfort is what embodies the casual fashion style. Casual style has a sense of streetwear with fashion, which ties in a wide range of styles versus being solely covering one style of dressing. Most of its influences come from youth culture in the streets instead of what is seen on the runways. Keeping it simple, elegant, yet comfortable is key to having a casual wardrobe.
Lastly, Bohemian, also known as Boho or Boho Chic, is a very popular style that evokes an artsy feel with wild prints and textures. Inspiration comes from the 60s and 70s with their hippie and gypsy looks. The carefree spirits of hippies is seen through the flowing fabrics used within this style. Boho Chic is very feminine in a rugged, yet effortless way.
These are only a few fashion styles; there are so many different ones out there and even some that cross over into others. Which is your favorite style?
xo,
